I love Proverbs 17:22
“A joyful heart is the health of the body, but a depressed spirit dries up the bones.”
Oh how true, how true! Ahhh…the Good Book has the truth on everything! The answer to any question in life is right there between the pages!
Many people today battle to experience or achieve happiness. It didn’t used to be that way. What’s changed? I hear from people all the time who say “I find it so hard to be happy.” What is causing this? Bad relationships; lack of necessities; physical and mental abuse; drugs; illness; the economy, what?
We must not give up and we need to remember that with God’s help, we can fight the forces that attempt to bring us down and hold us down. We need to stay focused on life & living and press on! Even if we have to fight to be happy these days, it’s a good fight and one we surely do not want to lose. Because like Proverbs says “…a depressed spirit dries up the bones.” All this unhappiness grows like a cancer inside of us and instigates illness, symptoms and disease.
So find the time each day to devote to yourself and your loved ones. Get outside and enjoy the sunshine! Sunshine lifts our spirits and makes us whole as well. Let the sunshine burn through all the negative forces that seem to come at us on a day-to-day basis. Get happy and live again!
I have been fighting a cold and flu for about 10 days now, but thanks to my fresh oranges, my healthy ME-gan diet and my kind & loving husband who takes wonderful care of me, it did not get the best of me, I got the best of it! And now, Lee and I will be resuming our two-mile walks each day. I have to say, the lack of energy that I was up against was no fun. I do not enjoy being kept from getting out and doing what I need to do. God bless those who are severely sick and bedridden, and those in wheelchairs who cannot get up and go as often and easily as they’d like. Those of us blessed with good health must not miss the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors! Enjoy God’s country!
Sunday morning, Lee and I sat out back by the pool and enjoyed breakfast. The sound of humming birds surrounded us, as well as bees buzzing and butterflies fluttering, it was so nice! It is like Spring here in Arizona, my favorite time of year here. The sweet aroma of the fruit trees and the flowers that are all now coming into bloom fill the air! It sure beats having breakfast inside at the table!
Little things count just as much as the big things! So do what you can do to achieve better health and happiness.
ME-gan Love,
Mary
