Fall has arrived. My favorite season! Maybe I can’t have the autumn weather, but I sure can have my fall squash: Acorn, Butternut, Delicata and more! To everything – turn, turn, turn. There is a season – turn, turn, turn. And a time to every purpose, under heaven.
Being in Ohio and Pennsylvania last week brought a well needed change to my soul. Although the leaves were just beginning to change, and were not at their peak in beauty, it was enough to get the fall spirit going. The weather was cool, and a fall breeze filled the air.
We drove by so many farms and open fields it was unbelievable. I can’t tell you how many old red barns we passed, as well as old country bridges. I just love it all. The towns we passed through were decorated and front porches were in full display of Mums and pumpkins. Stands for fresh apple cider, vegetables and pumpkins were everywhere. My blood was flowing. I get excited when I see, smell and feel fall. I’ve lived in Arizona so long, you’d think that I’d have out grown it, but that just doesn’t happen. You can’t take the fall out of the girl.
Living the ME-gan Lifestyle is truly one of a kind. I can’t express it sometimes, words just seem to not be enough. Eating is something we do to survive, and we should certainly see it that way. Every bite we put into our mouth should be filled with pleasure and a sense of knowing we are being nourished at the same time. Organic, whole foods are what our bodies thrive off of. Nowadays if I put something unnatural in my body it fights back. I look at it this way…if it fights, it’s right! There was a time when I ate anything and everything, and just about all the time. Life is better now, and much clearer.
Let’s say “thank you” to Mother Nature for her fall splendors. As for me, I will be eating a different squash every day or so. There’s just so many…I must get started!
Here’s to fall, no matter where you are! Enjoy what you have, and never stop dreaming of the things you have yet to attain. Life is ours for the taking. Take control of your life and make things happen. Life is between us and GOD – so live, love, be happy and healthy!
