Some days I think about the things that are going on in my life – all the different ‘story lines,’ kind of like a soap opera, and just wonder “what’s it all about?” Good, bad, or ugly, everything must be for a purpose, right? I guess we just need to figure out what that purpose is.
We only have so much control in life. Mainly, over our own selves. We can control what we put into our bodies and who we associate with, etc., but we cannot control other people or the various conditions & circumstances that come our way. However, how we react & respond to them is completely up to us.
Lately, I’ve been a little frustrated with myself because I feel like I have not been on top of my game, and I really don’t like it. I like to be in control of myself at all times. Most of my life I allowed other people and situations to control me, and when I finally broke through that wall, life changed for the better. It’s amazing how when we finally take total control of our life, what a huge difference it makes.
But how often do we fall? How often do circumstances win? How often do we give in when we know better, and want better? I would say quite often. After all, we are human.
The best we can do is ‘strive’ to be better. Aim to get higher. Long to be the best we can be. And not settle for mediocrity.
Some days we reach our goals, impress ourselves and motivate those around us. While other days we want to rewind and start all over again. Aspiring to achieve excellence is a mindset we must all focus on, but we must know that the falls will happen and when they do, we must force ourselves to get up and keep on going.
If we do not harbor hope or faith in our hearts, then where are we going? If we aim for nothing, what will we reach? If we give up when we stumble, how will we get another chance? If we allow ourselves to be conquered, how will we rise?
Not tomorrow, not next week, and not next year; but NOW is the time for you to make that change and do those things that you’ve been procrastinating.
We only get one life and like I said about my life, there are many story lines and ‘chapters,’ if you will, going on simultaneously…deal with them! Don’t let circumstances or situations shut you down – no! Take control & be on top of your game! Know that the ups & downs, zigs & zags, happen for a reason. Find the reason!
Be strong…live long! Take care of yourself, and most of all KEEP THE FAITH!
God bless and lots of ME-gan love to you!
