One of my earliest childhood memories is of my mom rocking me and singing “The Cherry Tree Carol.” When she was done singing I’d say “sing it again mommy!” and she always did! So guess what? I in turn sang it to my kids when they were small! Ah.. life…!! It makes a complete circle in no time!! I thought of this today as I was eating a big bowl of cherries! Cherries are so pretty and their subtle almond flavor is sweet and delicately pleasing to our taste buds! Maybe I need to plant a Cherry Tree!
Among the MANY nutritional values of cherries, my favorite is anthocyanin. This is a powerful antioxidant and is abundantly present in cherries! Cherries are the richest source of anthocyanin, which happens to be what gives them their ruby rich color. These beneficial compounds provide the body with a unique combination of antioxidants that are full of anti-inflammatory properties. I suggest you have a bowl and see if your achy joints don’t feel much better!! Read up on them…don’t be surprised if you find yourself running out to buy some!!
Here’s to living life to the fullest!!! Gluten free, animal free, egg and dairy free! LOV’N & LIV’N LIFE!!
