Quinoa is pronounced KEEN-WAH. It’s been referred to as “CHISAYA MAMA” or in English…”Mother of all Grains” by the Incas. It is an amino acid-rich (protein) seed, and not only is it high in protein, but the protein it supplies is complete protein, meaning that it includes all nine essential amino acids! Yes, it’s true! This makes it a superb choice for vegans who are very diligent about getting protein! Quinoa is loaded with acid lysine, the amino which is essential for tissue growth and repair. This is great! I LOVE learning about new foods and all the nutrients they supply us! There’s so much food out there that we don’t even know about! It’s CRAZY!
